These clients were looking for an extra large (solid wood) dining table to fill the large open dining space in their beautiful new home. They were hoping for something with a black stain/finish to compliment some of the homes new features, while not clashing or competing with their beautiful new white oak hardwoods.
We ended up making an 8ft. x 4 ft. table with a more minimalistic, modern style and a slim tapered leg. We used a black Rubio stain/finish that seeps into the wood, essentially turning the wood black and allowing you to see all of the wood grain still popping through. It creates texture and movement to the piece, while highlighting the wood itself, rather than something that coats the wood/sits on top.
We loved working on this project and were so thrilled to see how it came to life in their new, beautiful space.
