Hi friends! And welcome to Fynbos Studio. We are so happy (and thankful) you found your way here! We are George and Ashley Erasmus, the duo behind Fynbos Studio. Along with our 3 handsome boys, Gabriel (7), Callahan (5), and Henry (2), who you will often find 'helping out' behind the scenes.

We are an international family who met, married & lived in Cape Town, South Africa (George’s hometown) for 9 years before moving to the Middle East (Doha, Qatar) for 4 years for George’s career as a Critical Care Practitioner. In July of 2022, we sold all of our belongings (for the 2nd time in 4 years - phew!) packed up our tribe, along with our dog Tucker, and moved Stateside to Kansas (my, Ashley's, hometown). After arriving Stateside, and starting to renovate and furnish our home, we decided to put our love of creating together into a business… thus Fynbos was born!

We have been designing together for over 10 years. It all started when I approached George with ideas of things to make for our wedding. He has always been handy & creative and I knew he could bring my dreams & crazy design ideas to life... and he did just that! After the wedding, our venue ended up buying all of the items we had designed/handcrafted for the day.

We went on to create our first true product for a design studio I worked at in 2015. We have recreated this product and sell them here at Fynbos. It is our Display Blocks. Such a fun little 'full circle' moment for us.

I tend to have the crazy vision (& design background) and George has a knack for all things handy, building & bringing all of those 'crazy ideas' to life. Truly, there is no end to his talent/ability. And I can’t wait for you to see for yourself!
